Student Voice

Student Voice

We seek to involve students in their own learning.  As part of this process we are keen to hear the students' views on all aspects of their school life and to offer them the opportunity to develop as citizens.

Student Council

Brakenhale has an active Student Council. The School Council is an all-inclusive organisation which provides such an opportunity and is designed to give every student at the school a voice.  All students are represented on this Council by elected members and the staff and governors are also present at meetings.  There are 4 representatives from each year group and meetings are held on alternate Thursdays.

The school is heard through the Council.  Opinions about school policies and potential teachers who come for interview are listened to and are given consideration.  The Council also organises charity events to help raise money for the school and other organisations.
